    Z06

Chevrolet introduced the Z06 model in 2001. Chevrolet found that added power output did the C5 platform little good without platform modifications to bring the rest of the car up to par, and a hardtop body, upgraded suspension, larger wheels and tyres, revised gear ratios, and functional brake cooling ducts became part of the total package. One of the most powerful Corvette engines made is the Z06. 6.2ltr displacement puts out Big Block levels of power at 430hp and 424lb-ft of torque; all without a fuel guzzler tax. The new all-aluminum LS3 is the newest iteration of the legendary GM small block V8. New larger bore & deep aerobic capacity, thanks to a high-lift cam, high flow cylinder heads and new, higher-flow intake manifold. New available dual mode exhaust reduces restriction and raises output to 436hp, while providing a more aggressive exhaust note.

Thanks to the forger aluminum short/long arm (SLA) suspension geometry. Available Z51 Performance package achieves a lateral acceleration of .98g on the skid pad with Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres, cross drilled brake rotors, and extra cooling/performance gear ratios for the manual or automatic.

Engage yourself with a choice of two transmissions – six speed manual or Paddle Shift; choose the 6 speed Paddle Shift for clutchless shifting with both hands on the wheel. New hardware and software, is available, to offer even faster shifts for total driver involvement with an automatic transmission. Throttle downshifts for smoother transitions. New performance axle ratio for automatic short-throw 6 speed manual offers triple and double – one synchronizers – including reverse- and a light-action clutch for an even lighter shifting effort than previous versions.
